Roglic ends year as cycling’s world No.1
Paris, France: Slovenia's Primoz Roglic ends 2019 top of the rankings as cycling's world No.1, winning the World Tour ahead of Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe and Denmark's Jakob Fuglsang.
Riding for the Dutch outfit Jumbo-Visma, Roglic won the Tour of Spain and came close to winning the Giro d'Italia this year after also winning the Tirreno-Adriatico and the Tour de Romandie.
Alaphilippe racked up 12 wins and led the Tour de France for 14 stages. Fuglsang did well in the spring classics, winning Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
The revelation of the year, Tour de France winner Egan Bernal of Colombia, was fourth and the only Ineos rider in the top 10.
