Qatar’s Younousse, Tijan progress in Espinho

Espinho, Portugal: Qatar’s Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan entered the second round of the four-star Espinho stop on the 2019 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour on Friday.

Younousse and Tijan started with a comfortable victory against Italy's Abbiati Andreatta 2-0 (21-16 21-14).

But in the second game they lost to Spain’s Pablo Herrera Allepuz and Adrian Gavira Collado (19-21, 23-25) after a tough battle.

Younousse and Tijan finished second in the pool, behind the Spaniards and will take on Canada’s Sam Pedlow and Sam Schachter in the first elimination round on Saturday.
