Qatar win Asian Senior Beach Volleyball title

Bangkok: Qatar claimed SMM Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships by beating Iran in two sets in the final on Friday.

The team, which consistedof Ahmed Tijan and Cherif Younousse, won 21-18 and 21-13.

Qatar entered the after a convincing 21-15, 21-14 win over Kazakhstans Alexey Sidorenko amd Alexandr Dyachenko.

The title is the first for the Qatari team in this tournament and is a good step for the direct qualification to 2020 Olympic Games.

In the group stage, Qatar managed to lead the second group after winning three consecutive matches against Saudi Arabia (21-12 and 21-14) and Singapore (21-15 and 21-11) and Oman (21-19 and 21-18).
