Stars align for showdown in Monaco Diamond League

MONACO: The Diamond League Council has confirmed a stellar lineup of Olympic and World Championship medalists for the highly anticipated Monaco leg of the 2025 Diamond League, set to take place this Friday.
Serving as the 10th stop on this year’s circuit, the Monaco meet promises high-stakes action, with elite athletes vying for top rankings and aiming to eclipse records previously set during the Doha leg last May—many of which still stand as the best performances of the season.
Key events to watch include the 800m, 400m hurdles, 110m hurdles, high jump, and pole vault, all of which witnessed standout displays in Qatar. The upcoming competition will be a vital proving ground ahead of the season’s final stages.
Among the headline acts is Sweden’s Armand Duplantis, the pole vault phenomenon and world record holder at 6.28 meters. Duplantis, who established the season’s top mark in Doha and later bettered it in Stockholm, returns to the spotlight with expectations sky-high.(QNA)
