QAF President Al Kuwari praises outstanding organisation of Diamond League

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) President Dr Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari expressed satisfaction with the outstanding organisational level of the IAAF Diamond League that was held for the first time at the Khalifa International Stadium, which will host this year’s World Championships.

Al Kuwari said he was very pleased with IAAF officials praise of the event, adding that Qatar ensures that any tournament organised in Doha will be the best in the world in all respects.

“The Doha round of the Diamond League is always the focus of the world’s attention because it is the opening meet and all the top athletes are keen to participate in it,” he said.

The QAF president also stressed that the Diamond League is also one of the stages of preparation for the big event – the World championship in Doha at the Khalifa International Stadium – which confirms that Qatar is ready to host athletics’ marquee event, which will be held in the Middle East for the first time.
