Qatar storm to gold in 4x400m relay

Jakarta, Indonesia: Qatar stormed to gold in the men’s 4x400m relay at the at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta on Thursday.

The Qatari team, comprising Mohamed Abbas, Abdalelah Haroun, Mohamed Mohamed and Abderrahman Samba had topped the qualification in fine fashion and they continued their blistering run in the final, finishing in 3:00.56 for a new Asian record.

India won silver in 3:01.85sec while Japan took bronze, clocking 3:01.94.

Earlier in 1500m, Qatar’s Musaab Ali had to settle for fifth, one place ahead of compatriot Hamza Driouch.

India’s Jinson Johnson won gold in 3:44.72, Iran’s Moradi Amir took silver (3:45.62) and Bahrain’s Mohammed Tiouali claimed bronze.
