Chen wins women’s all-around title as China bag second gymnastics gold
JAKARTA, Indonesia: China's Chen Yile won the women's All-Around competition in gymnastics at the Asian Games here on Tuesday.
The 16-year-old collected 55.950 points for the title as China bagged their second successive gold medal after their men's counterpart won it on Monday.
Chen's team-mate Luo Huan (54.550) took the silver while North Korean Kim Su Jong claimed the bronze with 53.600 points.
Chen, 16, was due to begin her floor exercise when a tune — not the one she had chosen — began blaring from the speakers at the arena in Jakarta.
The teenager, who also dazzled at the FIG World Cup in Melbourne earlier this year, was confidence personified in all the four apparatus — floor, beam, vault and horizontal bar.
