Brazil and Denmark take gold in beach handball

Doha, Qatar: Brazil men and Denmark's women emerged as beach handball champions in the very first ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019.

Brazil won the crown in the very last shot of an exciting shootout, defeating Spain 14-17, 19-18, 11-10. 

“I have faith in me. Back in 2008 I missed a goal in a same situation. So every time I shoot I remember that,” said Bruno, who was the star for Brazil.

Earlier, Sweden defeated Qatar 10-16, 21-16, 9-6 to win the bronze medal.

In the women's final Denmark defeated Hungary 21-19, 15-14.

Brazil got the bronze medal after an amazing show against Vietnam (26-14, 23-18).
