Tight security for FIFA Club World Cup Qatar
Doha: The Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) confirmed that all preparations have been completed to secure the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019, which kicks off on Wednesday and continues till December 21.
Security Commander of the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup Lt. Col. Khalifa Shaheen al Dosari underlined that all units of the Security Committee are fully prepared for the championship.
He noted that the security preparations for the Club World Cup are going on the same level of interest and coordination between the executive units of the Security Committee in the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup 24.
He pointed to some conditions that have been considered and as stipulated by the regulations of FIFA as the organiser and supervisor of this tournament, such as conditions for holders of match tickets, persons allowed to enter stadiums and other conditions different from those during the Gulf Cup.
He stressed that the main target of the Security Committee is the safety of the masses and the participating teams and achieving the maximum levels of security for all concerned parties, as well as bringing the championship out in a manner befitting Qatar and its prominent experience in organising international and regional sporting events.
For football fans coming from abroad, Al Dosari said that there is a complete coordination with countries whose fans are expected to attend the tournament, adding that there are about eighty nationalities whose citizens can obtain an immediate visa from the airport, and most of the teams participating in the tournament have their countries enjoying this advantage.
