AFC Champions League winners Al Hilal arrives in Doha

DOHA: Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal FC arrived in Doha last night ahead of their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2019.
Al Hilal secured their place in the tournament by winning the AFC Champions League after comfortably beating Japan’s Urawa Reds 3-0 on aggregate across a two-legged final last month.
They will enter the tournament at the second-round stage against ES Tunis, winners of the CAF Champions League.
The winner of this match, taking place on Saturday at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, will face CONMEBOL Libertadores winners CR Flamengo.
“I’m proud to be here and participate with my team at the Club World Cup, where we’ll be among the best teams in the world and competing against the champions of each continent. We will do our best to perform well in this international event and have prepared well for that goal,” said Al Hilal’s coach Razvan Lucescu.
Tickets for the tournament are currently available for purchase on FIFA.com/tickets.
In total, seven teams will be taking part: Al Sadd SC (host country representative), Liverpool FC (UEFA), CF Monterrey (Concacaf), ES Tunis (CAF), Hienghène Sport (OFC), Al Hilal (AFC) and Flamengo (CONMEBOL). The full match schedule is available on FIFA.com.
